Polish Boxer Andrzej Fonfara Scores Third Round KO in Newark

Polish-born Chicago resident Andrzej Fonfara made an impression on the large Polish fanbase on hand by scoring an entertaining fourth round knockout of Little Rock, Arkansas journeyman Ray Smith in a light-heavyweight bout. The time of the stoppage was 1:04.

The 23-year-old Fonfara pushed the action from the opening bell, landing hard with body shots before blowing the fight open in the penultimate round with a right cross that buckled Smith\'s legs.

Fonfara pounced immediately and landed a left hook that dropped Smith for good. Fonfara is trained by a familiar face to Polish fans. Sam Collona, who got more out of Andrew Golota\'s talent than any other trainer, is also guiding Fonfara.

Fonfara raised his record to 17-2 (8 KO), while Smith drops to 9-6 (3 KO).
