November 26,2012 UFC on FOX 5 includes prelims on FX and Facebook, Schaub-Johnson in featured bout In addition to a stacked main card, next week's UFC on FOX 5 event includes a super-sized preliminary-card lineup with nine fights.

Unlike past UFC on FOX events, the featured prelims air on FX instead of FUEL TV.

In the main FX bout, which follows additional prelims on Facebook, heavyweights Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson clash at Seattle's KeyArena.
November 26,2012 Jan. 11 tapped for 2012 World MMA Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, tickets on sale The winners of the 2012 World MMA Awards will be unveiled at a Jan. 11 ceremony in Las Vegas. 

The awards ceremony, which is the fifth one that Fighters Only has organized, takes place at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. 

The awards feature 21 fan-voted categories, and Strikeforce/UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is nominated in a record four, including the prestigious Charles "Mask" Lewis Fighter of the Year.
November 26,2012 Welterweight, lightweight titles on line at Saturday’s BAMMA 11 card in England BAMMA returns this week with a card featuring a pair of title fights as well as a struggling UFC vet in the main event.

Tom Breese meets Warren Kee for the promotion's British welterweight title while Dale Hardiman takes on Steve Ray for the British lightweight belt. Headlining the card is a middleweight bout between UFC vet Xavier Foupa-Pokam and BAMMA regular Jack Marshman.

BAMMA 11 takes place Saturday and airs on AXS TV at 4 p.m. ET.
November 26,2012 RFA 5 card set with Downing-Rinaldi featherweight title fight, Krause vs. Jordan Resurrection Fighting Alliance puts its featherweight title up for grabs when it returns this week.

The show is set for Friday's RFA 5 event in Nebraska with a seven-bout main card, including Jared Downing vs. Jordan Rinaldi for the 145-pound title and WEC vet James Krause vs. Joe Jordan.

RFA 5 takes place Friday at Viaero Event Center in Kearney, Neb. The main card airs live on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET.
November 25,2012 The Sunday Junkie: Nov. 25 edition Even if the Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre super fight never happens, it sure has given fans plenty to talk about.

This week, The Sunday Junkie got reams of entries on the potential fight between the UFC's middleweight and welterweight champs, which could be in the works after St-Pierre's win over Carlos Condit at UFC 154.

But this week's Canadian winner, "A-shock," from London, Ontario, has some interesting ideas on how to infuse new life into the UFC's reality series, "The Ultimate Fighter."
November 25,2012 Middleweight champ Luke Rockhold out of Jan. 12 Strikeforce event For an event entitled "Champions," Strikeforce's Jan. 12 event is apparently running out of them very quickly.

According to a report by The MMA Corner, Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has suffered a wrist injury and has been forced to withdraw from the card.

Strikeforce and Showtime officials were unavailable for comment when contacted by, and executives from both companies have yet to make an official announcement. However, sources close to the bout have indicated Rockhold is indeed a scratch.
November 25,2012 Quebec commission declines to hear Alessio Sakara’s UFC 154 appeal request Patrick Cote's controversial UFC 154 disqualification victory over Alessio Sakara will stand.

On Friday, Quebec's La Regie des alcools des courses et des jeux (the baord that governs combat sports in the province) declined to hear Sakara's protest that referee Dan Miragliotta mishandled the bout, which took place Nov. 17 at Montreal's Bell Centre.

French-language outlet was the first to report the board's decision.
November 25,2012 After successful surgery, mess in Macau, David Mitchell primed for UFC victory More than two years after dropping his UFC debut, things haven't exactly gone David Mitchell's way.

Injuries, surgery and rehabilitation have left Mitchell out of action for more than 15 months - a streak he had hoped to end earlier this month.

Left without an opponent and some 7,000 miles from home, Mitchell admits it was a frustrating plight. Now he's aiming for a January return, and he's anxious to show the world what he can do when fighting at full strength.
