Adamek stops Walker in 5, Cunningham outpoints Gavern in New Jersey

In September 8th action from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, heavyweight Tomasz Adamek (47-2, 28 KO’s) survived a 2nd round knockdown scare to come back and stop Travis Walker (39-8-1, 31 KO’s) in the 5th round. In the co-main event, former cruiserweight champ Steve Cunningham (25-4, 12 KO’s) made a successful leap to the heavyweight ranks with a dominating unanimous decision over Jason Gavern (21-11-4, 10 KO’s). Scores were 100-90,100-90, and 99-90.
