8CN’s Darren Barcomb caught up with “The White Buffalo” Francois Botha as he is preparing for his September 7th matchup with Francesco Pianeta at the RWE-Sporthalle in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. The 43 year old South African Botha (48-7-3, 29 KO's) is looking to stop the momentum of the 27 year old German Pianeta (26-0-1, 14 KO’s) on his own home turf. Botha also touched on his plans for White Buffalo Promotions, his upcoming fight with Sonny Bill Williams, and his relentless hunt for the Klitschko brothers.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Barcomb: How has training gone for the bout? What can we expect to see from the White Buffalo in Germany?
Botha: Training is going very well and I think they are going to be very surprised! Expect a KO as it is hard to win on decision!
Barcomb: You lost a 12th round WBF title fight to Michael Grant last November in a bout that you were well ahead on the scorecards. Is a Grant rematch still a possibility?
Botha: They wanted this fight! Unfortunately the fight wasn’t made with lots of causes to this. I did retire many young fighters and I believe he will never be the same fighter.
Barcomb: There is talk that you will be facing Sonny Bill Williams in November. Is that a done deal?
Botha: Yes it is. I could have done it between halftime of a rugby match but I guess the people want to see me do it in a boxing ring.
Barcomb: What’s new with White Buffalo Promotions? Do you have any big events coming up soon?
Botha: I am busy negotiating and I believe in the New Year we will present the fans with some good shows!
Barcomb: Who else is on the White Buffalo’s radar in terms of future opponents? How long do you see yourself continuing to fight?
Botha: The Klitschko Sisters. I will make some waves after my victory in Germany. 2 years.
